Responsible for the organization and management of the musical worship on Sunday mornings and evenings to include: a) song selection; b) scheduling/directing practice time for worship team; c) regularly communicate with both the audio and video tech teams each week; d) regularly communicate with the evangelist preaching each Sunday to coordinate music selections with sermon themes whenever possible.
  7. Responsible for working with the Children’s Ministers in the development of a music program for children at SCC.
  8. Responsible for working with the Youth Minister in the development of a music program for the youth at SCC.
  9. Responsible for the organization and oversight of worship for both Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday services as well as other special church-sponsored events.
  10. Responsible for the oversight and supervision whenever special music is to be performed on Sunday mornings or at other church-sponsored events ensuring that: a) all stakeholders have advanced notice of a special being performed; b) practice time is provided for those performing the special; c) the music selected is fitting for service.

Youth/Associate Minister

JOB STATUS:  PART TIME with the potential to become FULL TIME


STARTING PAY:  $200 Per Week Plus Mileage.  May be adjusted higher with previous experience.


Gum Neck Church of Christ has an open position for a Youth Minister/Associate Minister.  The primary responsibility for this person will be to develop and coordinate a program which ministers to the needs of the members of the congregation under 18 years of age.  He will have the assistance of those who are already working with the youth to help administer the program.


Specific responsibilities will include, helping to co-ordinate and teach Sunday school and Junior church on a rotational basis with other teachers.  Planning at least two youth activities per month that are outside of regular church activities.  One activity will be for the teens and one will be for grades 1-6.


The right person will have a passion for the gospel and helping young people become rooted in Christ so that they will want to continue in their relationship and remain active in their faith after they graduate high school.  The position requires someone who strongly supports the importance of baptism (immersion) and regular sharing of the Lord’s Supper.  Enthusiasm, energy, organization, and creativity are requirements for the position. 


Hiree will be offered and encouraged to deliver one sermon each Quarter to the congregation, either on Sunday morning or Sunday evening to help develop his communication skills.
