Helping those affected by Hurricane Irene

August 30, 2011

Family & Friends, Mid-Atlantic Christian University is open. We suffered little damage from Hurricane Irene. We appreciate your prayers and concern. However, many in eastern North Carolina are in need of your help at this time. While Mid-Atlantic’s primary role is biblical higher education, the university would like to serve as a link during this time to connect those who wish to help with those who are in the best positions to serve. Share with God’s people who are in need. Romans 12:13 We encourage you to monitor our website for updates, www.macuniversity.edu. Pamlico Beach, Lowland, and surrounding areas have been hit very hard by Hurricane Irene, as has Hatteras Island. As we become aware of other nearby areas in need of help, we will post them.   We know of the following agencies that are serving these areas: DART – a ministry of IDES    Kent Gurganus, minister, phone 252-953-1606, coordinator of a local DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team), has crews working each day. IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services)    PO Box 60, Kempton, IN 46049-0060, phone 765- 947-5100, ides@ides.org , www.ides.org ...
