Mid-Atlantic Christian University Awards Ceremony   Elizabeth City, NC – April 30, 2013.  Mid-Atlantic Christian University held its annual awards ceremony Tuesday morning on campus in the Davenport Chapel.  The four-year private Christian university honored students who achieved accomplishments in academics, athletics, and student life during the 2012-2013 academic year. Vice President for Academics, Dr. Kevin W. Larsen, presented Graduation Honor Chords to seniors with high grade point averages. Ron Lawrence achieved honors for the Associate degree (cumulative GPA 3.5-4.0). Students receiving Baccalaureate degrees Cum Laude (cumulative GPA 3.5-3.69) are Olivia Grace Crehan, Jeffrey Landon Elliott, Amanda Thornton Kight, and Kyle David Layfield.  Students receiving Baccalaureate degrees Magna Cum Laude (cumulative GPA 3.7-3.89) are Chasity Michelle White and Sarah J. White.  Joshua Scott Bondy will receive a Baccalaureate degree Summa Cum Laude that has a cumulative GPA of 3.9-4.00. Class of 2013 Salutatorian is Sarah J. White, and Valedictorian is Joshua Scott Bondy. The Mid-Atlantic Christian University Zondervan Biblical Languages Award is given to honor the student who completes two years of Greek or two years of Hebrew with the highest GPA over 4 semesters. Spring Commencement May 11

Elizabeth City, NC – April 26, 2013 – Mid-Atlantic Christian University will hold its spring commencement services on Saturday, May 11, at 10:00 a.m. in the riverfront Chesson Gymnasium in the Al Blanton III Campus Life Center at 715 N. Poindexter Street.  The President of Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Dr. D. Clay Perkins, invites students’ families, friends, and the community to attend the commencement services.  The Commencement speaker will be Dennis L. Crehan, Minister of Jarvisburg Church of Christ.  Valedictorian, Joshua S. Bondy, of Kernersville, NC, and Salutatorian, Sarah J. White, of Ivor, VA, will present speeches.   David A. Broyles, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, class of 2013, will perform an original song. Dr. Kevin W. Larsen, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Kendall S. Greene, Vice President for Student Service, will participate in the ceremony. The Class of 2013 will be awarded Bachelor Degrees in fields of study such as Christian Ministry, Youth and Family Ministry, Counseling, Cross-Cultural Ministry, Entrepreneurial Leadership and Elementary Education.  This marks the first year for two important programs to present graduates.  The Elementary Education program will present five graduates for the first time.  The School of Professional Studies...

MACU approved for 100% online degree programs

Mid-Atlantic Christian University received notification today (April 15, 2013) from its accrediting organization, The Southern Association of College and Schools - Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), that several of its degree programs have been approved for one hundred percent online delivery.  For the past few years the school has gradually been increasing its online presence, and now with this approval, several educational programs are now available for students who are not able to attend classes in a traditional format. The programs approved include all of the offerings in the University's School of Professional Studies (B.S. in Christian Ministry, B.S. in Family Studies, B.S. in Organizational Leadership, A.A. in Biblical Studies). In the University's School of Undergraduate Studies the programs included are B.S. in Entrepreneurial Leadership, A.A. in Biblical Studies, B.S. in Biblical Studies (AAS Nursing at COA), and the Certificate in Family Life Education. (Please note - that the B.S. in Biblical Studies [AAS Nursing] only applies to those courses taken at MACU.  The nursing courses at COA must be completed at COA's campus in Elizabeth City and are not available online).
